CQS - Compact Quantum Sensor
Battery-operated handheld NV-diamond sensing devices designed for field operation.
Overview
We developed a battery-operated, diamond-based compact quantum sensor (CQS-1) laboratory prototype that fits into a ~10 cm × 10 cm × 4 cm enclosure. A second version (CQS-II) is under development. Their small volume and lightweight (~300 gram) enables their use in wide range of applications including satellites and drones.
- Reproducible sensing: repeated ODMR scans show overlapping features for the same applied fields.
- Vector magnetometry: supports inference of field components, not just magnitude.
- ML acceleration: regression/neural networks can predict vector components directly from ODMR scans; current accuracy > 90%.
